Congratulations to Chris Leaman and Leanne Oliver on their new qualifications!
Account executive Leanne has finished her Advanced Certificate in Public Relations from the CIPR. This qualification is a detailed introduction to PR and enables PR practitioners to develop the knowledge and skills they need to progress in a career in PR.
It is taught and assessed at the same level as a Foundation degree and candidates learn about PR planning principles, media relations techniques and the impact of social media on PR practice. They also have to master the art of writing for different channels too – from press releases to blogs and tweets.
Exploring psychological and sociological techniques to determine how the public receive and respond to stories was very interesting. It is also particularly relevant in today’s world when the integrity of news stories is under threat by click-bait and fake news.
Apprentice Chris has completed the PRCA’s Foundation Certificate, a key introduction to the world of PR. As he progresses through our structured apprenticeship he will go on to study with the CIPR, as well as gaining real experience on live client projects.
Pitching ideas well is an important part of PR. It is something that the team at Orchard do on a daily basis so I am pleased that my course has enabled me to practise my skills in this area.
We’re proud to support our team with their professional qualifications – an important part of delivering professional, ethical and transparent communications consultancy.
