Case study
Helping Caritas alleviate homelessness in Guernsey
Find out how Orchard’s work with Caritas brought the charity back into the public consciousness and led to a significant boost in support.
See the resultsLittle Green, the Channel Islands’ largest renewable energy specialist, challenged Orchard to increase its number of domestic and commercial leads. Our client was keen to engage with the local community to dispel myths about the cost and feasibility of solar panels and other renewable energy solutions for their homes and businesses. We needed an opportunity to get in front of potential customers organically, showcasing Little Green's innovative technology first-hand, and promoting sustainable energy in an accessible, family-friendly way.
Sometimes, simple ideas executed well get the best results. We secured a prime spot for Little Green at The West Show, an agricultural and horticultural event that celebrates local Guernsey traditions while offering entertainment for the whole family. To make its stall stand out, Little Green was powered entirely by a solar array and a Tesla Powerwall 3 battery storage device. The stand also made the most of the windy day by featuring an AirTurb wind turbine, showcasing many of Little Green’s core products in action. A screen displayed videos of Little Green’s solar installations and other offerings, along with a clear call-to-action encouraging visitors to enquire about renewable solutions.
To further engage the many families at the Show and to help Little Green stand out, we organised a children's drawing competition, using a sun-themed Jellycat plush toy as the centrepiece to attract young participants. The competition received over 40 entries, while branded goody bags containing sustainable items like seed packets were handed out to visitors. As the children drew, their parents spoke to the team about renewable solutions for their homes and often their businesses too, creating organic engagement and solid lead generation.
Orchard have pushed Little Green’s PR output forward every step of the way and this summer activation was no exception. By implementing the team’s creative tactics at the West Show we saw an influx of new leads, which is exactly what we needed. They clearly knew that West was best for Little Green, and I’d highly recommend the team for event, press, and all other PR activations.
