Two of the Channel Island’s leading creative agencies have come together to offer clients an innovative video service, designed to help companies get the most out of their news. Reacting to an increasing trend for media consumption online, Orchard PR managing director Steve Falla said it was vital for Channel Island companies to use video to inform people about their business.
The Institute of Directors in Guernsey has launched its winter series of lunch time seminars and the theme of this round of events is digital strategy and all things technology. For those of us in communications working with social media has become second nature so it’s easy to forget that there are whole sectors of industry that are just really waking up to the power these channels have and how they should be used.
We PR people (me included) love a good party so the PR Week Awards 2013 – with 1,000 bow-tied and ballgowned PRs in one room - was always going to be the mother of all shindigs. It was a tough job for funny man compere Rob Brydon to keep a little bit of decorum among the cacophony of squealing and whooping as shortlists, commendations and winners were announced.
Is the future bright? Schroders certainly think so and judging by the impressive group of young people they put together for the 2013 edition of their Bright Futures programme there can’t be much arguing with them on that score.
