Little Green: Generating energy and leads at The West Show
Find out how Orchard’s work with Little Green won them new business leads at a loved community event
See the resultsWhen the Guernsey International Insurance Association (GIIA) approached us with the aim of raising the profile of their interesting and international industry in order to attract new talent, we rose to the challenge. Our vision was to design an interactive half-day workshop that would captivate sixth-form students, with insurance professionals demonstrating Guernsey’s critical role in managing significant global risks. Being given this new perspective would inspire them to use their academic interests to explore careers in international insurance.
A fresh new brand was created for the event with a global, future focused theme. This was used to launch dedicated Instagram and LinkedIn accounts. Across 90 days, the Instagram content achieved over 20.5k views, 97% of which came from non-followers. Sponsored reels performed exceptionally well, with an average of 19.2k views, and we reached 8.4k unique accounts overall.
The workshop itself was designed to be interactive, immersing students in a real-world international insurance scenario and to add additional prestige to the event, industry veteran and Guernsey Deputy Mark Helyar gave a keynote speech on his personal journey through international insurance and why working in the sector is diverse, exciting, ethical and provides a sustainable yet challenging career.
Students attending received branded event merchandise and Orchard co-ordinated with the media to provide interviews along with pre-and-post-event media releases resulting in 11 pieces of media coverage.
To capture the energy of both events, Orchard documented the event through film, providing polished video content that became vital in promoting the event.
Feedback from students and educators was positive, and the event was praised with students saying they were now much more open to a career in international insurance having not been aware of it as a career option beforehand.
“Orchard’s support has made our ‘Insuring the Future’ events a huge success. They took care of everything, from working with our sponsors to creating an engaging experience for the students. Thanks to their efforts, we’ve had lots of feedback from teachers and students alike, with many students now interested in a career in Guernsey’s insurance sector. We’re excited to see how we can grow this event in the future.”
Adele Gale, GIIA.
Following the success of the first ‘Insuring the Future’ workshop in 2023 and by popular demand of the schools, we repeated the event in 2024, and are planning an even bigger event for 2025.
